Julia Mottl, born in Vienna in 1976, graduated as a fashion designer in her hometown. 1999 – 2006 she worked in the costume department of “Art for Art” in Vienna (formerly Austrian Federal Theatres) as a production supervisor and as a costume painter.
Primarily for productions of “Volksoper Wien” and for “Wiener Staatsballett”.
In 2006 she moved to Berlin. 2007-2008 she worked as a costume supervising assistant in “Deutsche Oper Berlin”. 2008-2011 she worked as a costume supervising assistant in
“Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin” for “Staatsballett Berlin”. In october 2011 she started to work as a freelance costume designer and freelance costume assistant, primarily for ballet and dance productions.
