Stage- and costume designer

Stage- and costume designer Michaela Springer was born on January 9, 1978 in Dillingen an der Donau, Germany. She studied stage design at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart with professor Martin Zehetgruber. First work experience in stage- and costume design she gained during a one year interning period at the state theater Stuttgart, as costume assistant with the production „Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg“ at the philharmonics and opera Essen and together with Indra Nauck she created the stage setting for „LSD“, directed by René Pollesch at the state theater Stuttgart.
Moreover she continuously works at the Württembergische Landesbühne Esslingen, did the décor and setting of „Wallenstein“, „Macbeth“ (directed by Soubeyrand Manuel), „Fremdlinge im eigenen Haus“, „Kafkaabend“, „Werkstatt der Schmetterlinge“, at the Studiotheater Stuttgart „Die Wawuschels“ (directed by Nadine Klante), Schauspielhaus Dortmund.
Since 2005 she collaborates with the choreographer Marco Goecke. Their first co-operations have been: „Sweet Sweet Sweet“, „The Nutcracker“, and „Alben“ with the Ballet Stuttgart as well as „The rest is silence“ and „Bravo Charlie“ with the Scapino Ballet in Rotterdam and “Whiteout” in Monte Carlo.
