Demis Volpi created a new solo titled „Spaceman“ for the Ballet in Santiago de Chile. It was worldpremiered on August 29th 2012 at Teatro Municipal and danced by Luis Ortigoza.
Further Volpi staged his award winning Pas de Deux „Little Monsters“ with dancers from ABT fort he Ballet Gala of Indianapolis City Ballet. Indianapolis Business Journal writes: „ABT’s Alexandre Hammoudi and student Veronkia Verterich danced the U.S. premiere of Demis Volpi’s “Little Monsters,” showing that new choreographic life can still be breathed into familiar Elvis Presley songs.“
Further Stuttgart dancer Hyo-Jung Kang will perform another world premiere by Volpi: She will dance the solo „Allure“ at the opening gala of Ballet Dortmund on September 15th and 16th. Also part of those gala will be Friedemann Vogel, dancing „Mopey“ by Marco Goecke.
Last weekend the Stuttgart Principal Vogel was awarded best international dancer and received the„Positano Premia la Danza – Leonide Massine“-prize. At the gala fort his occation in the Italian town Positano he also performed Marco Goecke`s solo „Mopey“.
