"In a field awash in mediocrity, this young choreographer is a standout."
writes Robert Johnson in "The Star-Ledger" about Volpi`s premiere of "Private Light" at the City Center in NY on November 8th in New York.

A further quote from his review:
“The most promising new work that ABT has presented in a long time, Volpi’s “Private Light” initially suggests a secluded parking spot where five young couples have come to neck—until their lips won’t unlock and innocent desire becomes obsession. The central duet, for Simone Messmer and Cory Stearns, is a tango with the woman fluttering limply as he overpowers her. Here’s what’s great about Volpi, though: He’s not content simply to imitate or to exaggerate, and he takes the time to show us the steps.”Vom 17.11.2011 | Permalink »
