Juliana Bastos was born in Brazil on August 23, 1977. She was educated in dance by Laura Alonso in Cuba and at the ballet school of the Staatsoper Wien. In 1996 she was engaged by the Ballet Stuttgart straight away, switched to the Birmingham Royal Ballet in 1999, and dances at the Ballet de Capitol du Toulouse since the year 2001.
Juliana Bastos achieved various awards, among others the gold medal of the National Competition of Cuba in 1995 in Santa Clara, und double gold medal at the National Ballet Competition Interesopolis 1995 in Brazil. Her repertoire is extraordinarily diverse, with the main focus on classic and neo-classic (Ashton, Cranko, Neumeier, Balanchine, Scholz, van Manen, Kylian, Duato, Bigontetti et. al.).
